June Haruko (Onaga) Waldo

June Haruko (Onaga) Waldo, was born on April 23, 1932, in Okinawa, Japan, where June grew up and went to school. In 1956 June came to Hawaii where she met and later married the love of her life William “Bill” Edward Waldo on May 4, 1961, in Naha, Okinawa. Together they shared over twenty years together before Bill’s passing on October 23, 1981. Bill and June were blessed with one precious daughter, Michelle, who brought great joy and love to her parents. In 1970, the family moved to the small town of Richland, Missouri and quickly became involved in the community. They always enjoyed the closeness that developed over the years as they settled in and got to know the people in it. June was the definition of a loving daughter, wife and mother, and grandmother. She took great pride in her family and was a devoted housewife and homemaker all throughout her life. Gardening was June’s passion which complimented her dinner table every day; as she was known to be a great cook. June’s family meant the world to her. She doted over her grandson, Tristan and the two were especially close. She poured out her love upon her great-grand-daughter, Isabelle. Every time June’s family came into her presence the love, smiles and hugs just overflowed. On the evening of Monday, July 13, 2026, June passed away with loving family by her side having attained the age of 94, in Springfield, Missouri. June leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Michelle Waldo-Taylor (Jason) of Niangua, MO; 3 grandchildren, Tristan Dakota Waldo of Niangua, MO, Eric Mikel Taylor (Mallory), and Mckenzie Elizabeth Taylor all of Springfield, MO; 1 great-granddaughter, Isabelle Taylor; several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Bill. June’s death is not the extinguishing of a light, but the putting out of the lamp because the dawn has come. So, when each new day begins, smile and cherish the fond memories and all the says God gave us with her until we meet again. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland with Pastor Matt Brady officiating. Serving as escorts were the family. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
