Kathleen Pearl Rowden

Kathleen Pearl Rowden, daughter of the late Garland Albert Hood and Jeanette Marie (Garrett) Hood, was born August 13, 1953, in Paxton, Illinois. Due to her father being a truck driver, the family lived in several different places throughout Kathleen’s younger years. They lived in California for several years and in 1987 came to Missouri. Kathleen met a young man by the name of Gail Rowden, Jr. and they began dating. On March 26, 1988 in Troy, Missouri, Kathleen and Gail were united in marriage. They shared over 36 years of marriage together. In 1990, Kathleen and Gail moved to Richland, Missouri where they made their home and remained there to this day. Kathleen was a hardworking woman and took great pride in providing for her family. She was an owner / operator of a trucking company and she herself drove an over the road truck for many years. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed being a beautician and definitely had a need for speed. She drove a stockcar for several years at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri and also enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was a lifetime member of the Freedom of the Road Riders Local 28 and was also a collector of clocks. Most importantly, she loved her family and treasured all the time that they could spend together, especially times with her grandchildren. Kathleen passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, in her home near Laquey, Missouri having attained the age of 71 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Gail Rowden, Jr. of the home; her five children, William Damery (Angie) of Pine Valley, CA, Ricky Damery (Amy) of Macks Creek, MO, Carie Harris (Scott) of Wentzville, MO, Theresa Damery of Linn, MO, and Amy O’Donnell (Seamus) of Cottleville, MO; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Wilkins and Sharon Coomer, both of Evansville, IN; a brother-in-law Robert Pieschal of the state of CA; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Elaine Pieschal. Even though she is gone from our sight, Kathleen’s love for her family and her free spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Celebration of Life services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville with Jamie Roberts officiating. The recorded song "Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis was played. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions in memory of Kathleen Rowden may be made and may be left at the funeral home.
