Kathryn "Kathy" Kay Davenport

Kathryn “Kathy” Kay (Williamson) Davenport was born on August 31, 1946, in Springfield, Missouri. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026, while under the care of Legacy Hospice at Dunlop House, in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Kathy was a longtime resident of Waynesville, Missouri and later of Chester, Virginia. She was diagnosed with a meningioma several years ago, yet was blessed to reach the age of 79 years. Kathy was the daughter of Paul Eugene and Ollie Katherine (Clarkson) Williamson and a sister to Lester Lee Williamson and Kenneth Paul Williamson and a grandmother to Alaina Kay—all of whom preceded her in death. Kathy grew up in Springfield and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She dedicated 30 years to teaching elementary school for the Waynesville R-VI School District. Her favorite grade was Kindergarten. She found great joy in shaping young lives and retired after fulfilling career in education. Kathy met Frankie Dale Davenport in Waynesville, Missouri. They were married on June 30, 1973 at Westside Baptist Church and shared over 42 years of marriage together. They were blessed with two daughters, Julie and Amy. Kathy loved to fish and was often the first to catch one, quietly and nonchalantly reeling it in. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting, creating many treasured pieces for family and friends. Kathy loved to travel and never missed the opportunity to vacation with her children and grandchildren. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters: Julie Hagar (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Amy Falk (Andrew) of Chester, Virginia; four grandchildren: Drew Falk (Anchorage, Alaska); Ameerah Falk (Colonial Heights, Virginia); Jacob Hagar (Atlanta, Georgia); and Jackson Hagar (Atlanta, Georgia); her brother-in-law: Bill Davenport (Sharon) of Waynesville, Missouri); a niece: Becky Cooper (Springfield, Missouri) as well as great-nieces great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville, MO. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kathy Davenport to Legacy Hospice and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
