Linda Mae Britt

Linda Mae (Anderson) Britt, daughter of the late Earl and Florance Anderson, was born April 28, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri. Linda attended Swedeborg Elementary School until the 8th grade and then graduated from Crocker High School of Crocker, Missouri. On May 24, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Bill Britt and they were blessed with two children: David and Jerry. Shortly after she was married, Linda began working for the H.D. Lee Company. She worked there for a time until she obtained employment at Fort Leonard Wood, where she worked until her retirement in 2005. Linda enjoyed sewing, dancing, reading, traveling and working in her garden. She was also a very good baker and her family enjoyed every minute of it. Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog Buster. Linda made a profession of faith and was a member of the Swedeborg Baptist Church of Swedeborg, Missouri. She attended faithfully until her health did not permit her to do so. Linda went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Lake Regional Hospital of Osage Beach, Missouri having attained the age of 63 years. Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bill of the home; two children: David Britt and wife Tracy of Lebanon, MO and Jerry Britt and wife Barbara of Richland, MO; one brother: Bobby Mitchell of Richland, MO; mother-in-law: Millie Britt of Richland, MO; four grandchildren: Levi Britt and wife Casie of Abilene, TX, Jacob Britt of Lebanon, MO and Jordan and Justin Britt of Richland, MO; one niece: Tina Gregory and husband Tim of Lebanon, MO; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Anderson Jr. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the First Baptist Church of Swedeborg, Missouri with Pastor Jim Burton and Pastor David Brown officiating. Levi Britt read a portion of “Intimations of Immortality” by William Wordsworth. The songs “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me and “How Great Thou Art” by Elvis Presley were played. Serving as escorts were Linda’s loving family. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery of Swedeborg, Missouri.
