Mary Ann Wilson

Mary Ann Wilson, the daughter of the late Winston Irwin Lawson and Eunice Fay (Lewis) Lawson, was born on December 2, 1937, in Dixon, Missouri. She spent her childhood growing up and attending school in Vienna, located in Maries County, Missouri. On March 4, 1955, Mary Ann married Andrew Eugene Wilson in Harrison, Arkansas. The couple shared over 63 years of marriage and were blessed with three children: Daren, Michael, and Christina. Mary Ann was known for her hardworking nature and her devotion to providing for her family. Over the years, she held various jobs, including positions at Chambers Clothing Store, The Apco Station, Mallows Market, and Wilson Excavating. At Wilson Excavating, she was known for her willingness to take on a variety of tasks, from picking up parts to moving equipment—always ready to do whatever was needed. In her free time, Mary Ann enjoyed sewing, crafting, candle making, reading, crocheting, and fishing, especially trolling. She was well known for baking bread using her grandmother’s recipe, and she dedicated herself to canning and preserving food, as well as making jelly for her family. Mary Ann’s faith was a central part of her life. She made a profession of faith early on and was baptized at Wheeler Christian Church. Over the years, she attended Deerlick Baptist Church and was a member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church in St. Robert. She served as a deacon’s wife, taught Sunday School, and was fondly known as the “candy lady.” While residing at Richland Care Center, Mary Ann passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Mary Ann will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Mary Ann leaves behind her three children: Daren Wilson (Sandy) of Springfield, MO; Michael Wilson (Margaret) of Waynesville, MO; and Christina Wilson of Osage Beach, MO. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Kayla Wilson of Waynesville, MO; Ethan Wilson (Shelby) of Richland, MO; and Zachary Wilson of Osage Beach, MO; three step-grandchildren: Grant Hastings (Ashley), Jordan Hastings (Blaine), and Cameron Hastings, all of Springfield, MO; three step great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Grayson, and Isaiah; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wilson; her brother, James Douglas Lawson; her niece, Elizabeth Lawson; and her nephew, Jeffrey Lawson. Although she is no longer with us, Mary Ann’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert Pastor Leo Gladden and Pastor Calvin Gladden officiating. Kayla Wilson, Mary Ann's granddaughter, sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Serving as escorts were Kayla Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Shelby Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Grant Hastings, and Jordan Hastings. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Ann Wilson to the Spearhead Church Building Fund and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
