Timothy Lee Bartlett

Timothy Lee Bartlett, son of Walter Clifton and Sophia Elizabeth (Anderson) Bartlett, was born February 12, 1954 in Waynesville, Missouri. He passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 in the Mercy Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. He had attained the age of 58 years, 7 months and 22 days. Tim, as he was known to his family and friends, grew up in the Waynesville area and graduated from Waynesville High School. He later attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. On May 23, 2005, Tim was united in marriage to Cheryl Raye Michelle Turner in Eureka Springs, Missouri. They shared over seven years together and many wonderful memories. They enjoyed going on trips together and just spending time together. Tim was a hardworking business man and was the owner and proprietor of Bartlett Upholstery and Ashley May’s Restaurant for several years. He was currently employed at the Mid Missouri Credit Union as the Chief Lending Officer. He loved his job and everyone at MMCU was like family and he was always interested in what was going on in their lives and seeing what he could do to help. Tim was very involved in the Waynesville community and served for many years on the Planning and Zoning Commission and was also the current city councilman for Ward 4. He was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #375 AF & AM. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed reading everything from the newspaper to the latest mystery novel and anything in between. He also was very talented when it came to upholstery. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan and never missed a game, whether it was going to the game or watching them on TV. If you needed any stats concerning the Cardinals, just ask Tim. He enjoyed playing pool and visiting with friends at the local pub. Tim always said that is how he could keep a finger on the pulse of the community and it helped him both professionally and personally. Tim and Cheryl enjoyed taking motorcycle rides and he could also be found on the golf course from time to time. He loved to stay busy, even if that meant just tinkering around in his yard at home and taking walks with his loyal companion, Tripp – the Yorkie. Most importantly, he treasured spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Tim will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Cheryl of the home; one daughter: Kirsten Shaw (Luke) of Warrensburg, MO; one son: Chris Childs (Melissa) of Waynesville, MO; one step-daughter: Sara Gee (Greg) of Waynesville, MO; one stepson: Dylan Neuman of Dixon, MO; his mother: Sophia Bartlett of Waynesville, MO; one brother: Carl Bartlett (Kay) of Springfield, MO; one sister: Kathy Cantrell (Bob) of Blue Eye, MO; seven grandchildren: Logan Shaw, Rory Shaw, Griffin Shaw, Rylee Gee, Lydia Childs, Ethan Finger and Hannah Finger; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Walter Bartlett. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rick Smith officiating. Soloist Charlas Bales sang “In the Garden”. Serving as honorary escorts were David Catnrell, Richie Shelden, Michael Bench, David Dade, Rick Carlton, Gary Mayor and Tripp – the Yorkie. Inurnment was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery with Gary Holt officiating. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tim Bartlett to the Relay for Life of Pulaski County and may be left at the funeral home.
